ProTeo is a speculative biodesign intervention developed during the Regenerative Artificial Biological Machines module at Central Saint Martins. Designed in response to rising hypoxia levels in London’s water bodies, the project imagines a self-sustaining system that restores ecological balance by fostering symbiotic relationships between technology and native aquatic organisms.
Grounded in global research on harmful algal blooms and their potential benefits, ProTeo rethinks remediation as a regenerative service. The project evolved through ecosystem mapping, prototyping, and material explorations, blending speculative design with environmental urgency.
